The Academy of Arts (Serbian: ''Академија уметности / Akademija umetnosti'') is a private higher education institution in Belgrade, Serbia. The Academy of Arts is the first accredited faculty in the Republic of Serbia in the field of Arts.
The successful accreditation of the institution and its ten programs of basic academic studies is a distinctive acknowledgment to the Academy of Arts and the validity of its study programs: Acting, Dramaturgy, Advertising and Design, Film Directing, Film and TV Camera, Production in Arts and Media, Film and TV Editing, TV Directing, Photography, Sound Design and Music Production.
The Academy of Arts was established and has developed with the aim of systematically conducting the transfer of artistic, professional and scientific competencies, stimulating creativity, developing new generations of professionals and artists, taking into account differences, respecting individuality and developing self-confidence.
The Academy of Arts achieves its mission and the set objectives through complex academic tasks based on a specific unity of teaching, artistic and research activities. Following in the steps of the European Higher Education Area – Bologna Declaration and other documents pertaining to the same process, at the same time respecting the right to autonomy and traditional values, as is distinctly accounted for by the documents thereof – the Academy of Arts approaches education as a development, rather than a social category; adapts programs to modern teaching and learning standards; provides for objective evaluation and continued supervision of student achievements; conducts continuous quality control and advancement mechanisms; engages students as equal partners in teaching, artistic, creative and research processes; harmonizes curricula with requirements set forth by European trends, as well with specific value criteria, affinities and professional affiliations of all students; engages renowned artists and theorists in the fields of art and/or media production…
The ten study programs are delivered by eminent teachers, researchers and associates engaged by the ACADEMY OF ARTS, including: Siniša Kovačevič, Mirjana Karanović, Nebojša Dugalić, Radoslav Vladić, Milovan Zdravković Ph.D, Gordana Zafranović, Veljko Đurić Ph.D, Dragan Elčić MA, Milutin Petrović, Olivera Viktorović Đurašković, Aleksandar Timofejev, Predrag Kajganić MA, Aleksandar Popović, Dejana Prnjat Ph.D, Draško Plavšć, Miloš Spasojević, Svetlana Bezdanov Gostimir Ph.D etc.
In an effort to support authentic talents, the Academy of Arts is offering:
- Four-year undergraduate academic studies (ECTS 240) in the fields of Drama and Audiovisual Arts, Music, Fine Arts and Applied Arts and Design;
- One-year graduate academic – master - studies (ECTS 60) in the fields of Drama and Audiovisual Arts;
- Three-year doctoral arts studies (ECTS 180) in the fields of Drama and Audiovisual Arts.
The studies provide a solid basis for the students to: apply for engagement in theatres, galleries, film or radio and television studios, agencies and multimedia projects; embark on a carrier of a professional and an artist; and/or continue master, specialist and doctoral studies throughout Europe. The curricula provided by the Academy of Arts – consistently reiterating their solid foundation in the field of Arts – encompass carefully selected educational and artistic contents, divided into the following groups of subject matter:
- Art (A) - subjects targeting the acquisition of knowledge and understanding and/or mastering the skills conducive to creative involvement in specific domains of professionalized arts and development of specific artistic professional careers;
- Theory of Art (TA) - study courses whose mastering advances knowledge and expands understanding of the world of arts;
- Social Sciences and Humanities (SH) - subject matter that is an indispensable supplement to establishing the academic status of an author of any given artistic expression.
==Awards received by the Academy of Arts==

The Cultural-Educational Association of Serbia, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, awarded the Vuk Award 2008 to the Academy of Arts for outstanding contributions to the development of culture in the Republic of Serbia and the pan-Serbian cultural space. The award is intended for individuals, institutions and organizations working to promote culture, education and science and achieving results of particular significance for culture.
The Academy of Arts was awarded the Zlatni beočug Award by the Cultural-Educational Association of Belgrade in 2001, for lasting contributions to the culture of Belgrade.
